Young people can access support through Life and Livings Skills by attending the group program or through one-on-one coaching support.
The Life and Living Skills group program occurs at various times throughout the year and generally for a period of 6-7 weeks. During this time, the program will run one day per week for approximately 2 hours and will be based in a fun and relaxed space within a local community centre. The program is run in small groups where you can build upon your independent living skills while meeting other young people and making new friends. Come and join our next group program where you’ll be supported to achieve your goals, connect with support services and access resources and opportunities. Food, games and prizes are all included!
Attendance to this group program will depend on when the program is next scheduled for and limited spots are available. If you’re interested to know upcoming dates or have any further questions, please contact our Community Youth Coach on (03) 8552 2222 or email communitycoach@moira.org.au.
One-on-one coaching provides individualised support to young people to build confidence and develop independent living skills. Support is usually provided over a period of 6 weeks, where you will be linked in with Your Journey’s Life and Living Skills Youth Worker who will meet with you on a weekly basis. Location and times of coaching can be flexible, including within the comfort of your own home, or at an alternate location within the local community. The support offered will be tailored to your personalised goals and the skills that you’ve identified that you would like to develop further.
For more information on one-on-one coaching, please contact our Community Youth Coach on (03) 8552 2222 or email communitycoach@moira.org.au.
Both the Life and Living Skills group program and one-on-one coaching is for anyone aged 16-25, who have any connections within the Bayside Peninsula or Southern Melbourne areas including the Cities of Port Phillip, Stonnington, Bayside, Glen Eira, Mornington Peninsula Shire, Greater Dandenong, Casey, and Cardinia.
The Victorian Government has collaborated with young people to launch YouthNav, an exciting new online resource aimed at helping them navigate their futures. YouthNav links young Victorians to local health and wellbeing services while providing guidance on finances, housing, job searching, and understanding their rights—topics identified by young people as important.
